Key Account Manager for Maki A/S – leading distributor of toys in the Nordics

 

We are looking for a Key Account Manager to take ownership of key customers and play a central role in developing strong partnerships with both hypermarkets and mid-size chains. On top of that, you will have the opportunity to work with world-leading toy brands.

 

Key Account Management in Maki

As KAM for Maki Finland, you will be responsible for various key customers which is a good mix of hypermarkets and mid-size chains. You will be responsible for developing and growing your customers through long-term partnerships. You will have the freedom to plan and structure your own workday, giving you a high degree of independence and flexibility while driving customer relationships, securing new orders, and contributing to continued sales growth.

You will be part of the sales team in Finland, and report to the Sales Manager of Finland.

Key tasks:

You will serve customers as a strategic business partner and advisor through a long-term partnership and with a commercial mindset, brand knowhow, and market understanding. In addition, your key tasks will be:

  • Ensure that customers have the best possible product packages
  • Ensure that the cooperation with customers is maintained and developed
  • Plan campaigns and catalogues in cooperation with customers
  • Reach your budget
  • Start up, develop and grow new key accounts
  • Analyze performance, design action plans, and implement them
  • Create co-marketing activities in cooperation with Maki’s Marketing team
  • Engage in close cooperation with Maki’s Commercial team
  • Visit customers and ensure close relations

Travel activities:

  • Approx. 10-15 days annually

How do you become successful in this job?

  • You come from a similar position within sales or purchase of consumer goods as well as experience with B2B business.
  • You have experience with hypermarkets or other chain customers. It is not a requirement, but an advantage, if you have experience with the toy industry.
  • You have +5 years of experience with sales to key accounts and you have worked with branded products before
  • You have strong IT skills and are a proficient user of the Microsoft package like calculations in excel, Power BI, and presentations in PowerPoint. Knowledge with Navision is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • You are fluent in Finnish and English both spoken and in writing
  • You have a strong commercial understanding and are result-oriented
  • You are analytical and can transform analysis into data and action plans as well as implement them
  • You are structured, take action, and keep overview of your tasks without missing the details
  • You are a team player, outgoing and have an interest in improving yourself both personally and professionally

Maki is the largest distributor of toys in the Nordic countries. We distribute more than 80 of the most attractive toy brands in the world within Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. We sell our products in more than 5.000 shops and online shops in the Nordic countries and some of our brands are Paw Patrol, Gabby’s Dollhouse, and Schleich. We only sell to B2B customers, who are served by a sales team in each of the Nordic countries.

We have increased our turnover times five within six years and we have made an ambitious strategy to grow the business during the coming years and to ensure continued growth and further development of the Finnish market, we now look for a Key Account Manager.
