Key Account Manager for Finland – with responsibility for hypermarkets

We are looking for a KAM who strives with building long-term relationships with customers and at the same time, likes to win new orders and secure new sales.

Who is Maki?

Maki is one of the largest distributors of toys in the Nordic countries. We distribute more than 70 of the most attractive toy brands within Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. We sell our products in more than 5.000 shops and online shops in the Nordic countries and some of our brands are Paw Patrol, Gabby’s Dollhouse, and Schleich. We only sell to B2B customers which is served by a sales team in each of the Nordic countries.

We have increased our turnover times five within six years and we have made an ambitious strategy to grow the business during the coming years and to ensure continued growth and further development of the Finnish market, we now look for a Key Account Manager.

Key task as KAM in Maki

As KAM for Maki in Finland, you will be responsible for our big customers which are Hypermarkets in Finland, as well as you will have a few smaller customers. You will be responsible for developing and growing your customers and you will get a great influence on prioritization of activities.

You will be part of the sales team in Finland and you will report to the Sales Manager of Finland who is part of the Sales team in Maki.

Are you an experienced KAM who is analytical and can work independently with your customer portfolio? Then we have an exciting job opportunity for you with the following key tasks.

Key tasks:

  • Ensure that customers have the best possible product packages
  • Ensure that the cooperation with customers is maintained and developed
  • Plan campaigns and catalogues in cooperation with customers
  • Reach your budget
  • Start up, develop and grow new Key Accounts
  • Analyze performance, design action plans, and implement them
  • Create co-marketing activities in cooperation with Maki’s Marketing department
  • Engage in close cooperation with Maki’s Commercial department
  • Visit customers and ensure close relation with both big and small customers

Travel activities:

  • Approx. 10-15 days annually


Success criteria:
  • Achieve strategic and financial targets
  • Success with own customers and high satisfaction in the Annual customer survey
  • Ensure development and growth with key customers
  • Ensure maximum presence of Maki’s products in the shops
How do you become a success in this job?:
  • You come from a similar position within sales or purchase of consumer goods. You have experience with Hypermarkets and smaller shops. It is not a requirement, but an advantage, if you have experience from the toy industry and experience with working with hypermarkets
  • You have +5 years of experience with sales to Key Accounts
  • You have strong IT-skills and is a proficient user of the Microsoft package like calculations in excel and presentations in PowerPoint. Knowledge with Navision is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • You are fluent in Finnish and English both spoken and in writing
  • You have a strong commercial understanding and is result-oriented
  • You are analytical and can transform analysis to data and actions plans as well as implement them
  • You are structured, take action, and can keep overview of your tasks without missing the details
  • You are a team player, outgoing and have an interest to improve yourself both personally and professionally.
